ABOUT ALIVE Established in 2003 as a small T-Shirt label, Alive has grown constantly over the last few years to a fresh source for all kind of T-Shirts friends. The label is trying to protect threaten animals by selling nice products. Each T-Shirt design is showing a threaten species. A part of each sale (between 1, and 2, Euro) will be given to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund for Nature). The money will be used to protect the threaten animals. Alive is a project by Christian Lindemann. Christian is working as an Illustrator and Graphicdesigner in Germany. You´ll find his work here: www.lindedesign.de THESE ARE SOME OF THE ANIMALS FEATURED ON OUR SHIRTS JAVAN RHINO The Javan Rhino is the rarest of the rhino species with fewer than 60 animals surviving in only two known locations: one in Indonesia and the other in Vietnam. Rhinos have been poached from these small populations in recent years and much more intensive protection is needed if this species is to survive. Read more... - - - - BONOBO CHIMP The bonobo is a great ape and also one of the last large mammals to be documented by science. The species is best characterized as female-centered and as one that manages and diffuses tension through sex, making agression less common than with chimpanzees. Based on field observations, scientists believe that less than 20,000 bonobos remain. Bonobos are highly vulnerable to increasing hunting and habitat loss because they have a low birth rate and a fragmented population. Read more... - - - - MAURITIUS PARAKEET The Mauritius Parakeet is the sole survivor of the Psittacula species which inhabited the Southern Indian ocean islands near Madagascar. The total wild population is less than 100 individuals, most of which are males. It is among the rarest extant psittacids in the world. Read more... - - - - RED PANDA The red panda resembles a raccoon in size and appearance. It lives in mountain forests with a bamboo understory. Red pandas almost exclusively eat bamboo. The red panda is found in a mountainous band from Nepal through northeastern India and Bhutan and into China, Laos and northern Myanmar. It is rare and continues to decline.The major threats to red pandas are loss and fragmentation of habitat due to deforestation and poaching for the pet and fur trades. Read more... - - - - MANED THREE-TOED SLOTH The Maned Three-toed Sloth has a small head, tiny eyes and ears, and a small tail hidden in its fur. He eats the leaves, buds, and soft twigs of a few forest trees, especially those of the Cecropia. The major threat to the maned three-toed sloth is the loss of its forest habitat as a result of lumber extraction, charcoal production, and clearance for plantations and cattle pastures. Excessive hunting is also a threat. Read more... - - - - SPERMWHALE The Sperm Whale is the largest of all toothed whales and is the largest toothed animal alive, measuring up to 18 metres (60 ft) long.
